What is a Family Designer Concept?
A Family Designer Concept is a family portrait but not in the way its been known for more than 100 years! We have completely re-invented the concept! Sure it still shows what all of the family members look like during a particular date however it goes way beyond that! Most of all a Family Designer tells a Unique Story. And because all families are unique – our images are all different!
LET’S DELVE DEEPTER INTO THE SYTLE:
Looking at the family designer above. If this family had a “normal” family portrait made ( perhaps sitting in the park or walking on the beach in nicely co-ordinated clothing) – what would you know about them? What story would it tell? In years to come what would the family members remember by looking back on their portrait? All they would know is what they looked like in 2023! Which is fine because a traditional portrait is still lovely.
The above designer is a Lifestyle Designer Concept. It has the family home, the elements of their dairy farm, their two dogs, interests ( sport, quad bike, toys & motor bike etc…) the father is very much interested in the soil on his property! Their clothing is all personal and reflects each personality. There will never be another family designer that looks like this! When the children grow up – this image will tell a story about their life!

YOUR JOURNEY:
The first step to having a Family Designer Concept created for your Family is to fill in your Expression of Interest Form (there’s one at the bottom of this page) telling us a little about your Family. After you submit your interest you’ll receive a detailed email with all of the info about our latest call out & promotion (including promotion pricing & offers). The info you include on your form will be the basis of our first phone chat. If everything sounds great after our chat we’ll invite you to attend your personal Zoom Planning Session & that’s when the Fun & Creativity starts!
Limited Positions:
People often ask why we only request a small amount of families to take this journey with us. Typically we’ll call out for between 7 & 10 Families at any one time. (And in fact 2024 is the first call out for Queensland Families! ) The Limited number of participating families is because of the tailor made bespoke nature of our Designs – each design is created from a blank canvas – therefore they take a long time to create & it is impossible to do more & maintain the incredibly high standards we set!
YOUR PLANNING SESSION:
When we start your One Hour Zoom Planning Session with you we never know where the special concepts for your Family will end up. It’s best to start with an open mind, relax & enjoy the process! We’ll chat about a wide range of things including, interests, cultural background, personality, fun stories, family connections & so much more. Many of the Designs will have lots of almost “hidden” details that have special meaning to the family. We also often include family pets such as ( but not limited to) dogs, cats, lizards, horses etc… Favourite toys, keepsakes, jewellery, cars, caravans, boats, photos, rememberance items for loved ones who have passed etc….. are often also included. We also chat about colour – sometimes the colours in our images match your home decore – whatever is important to you is important to us! There is literally a Universe of Possibilites available when we are Dreaming up your special Concept(s) with you!
Until you Experience your own Planning Session it’s challenging to comprehend just how personal and Tailor Made your Design will be.
And there is literally no right or wrong!

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION:
The sessions place at our Maroochydore Studio on our Green Screen. We photograph the youngest members of the family in a fun playful style – that’s how we get our beautiful natural expressions! Parents/guardians are present thoughout the whole session to ensure that the kids feel totally comfortable. The sessions typically run for an hour but may finish earlier – especially if we’ve captured everything we need. We all work together to create an awesome set of images that can be used in the Design(s)
