What is a Designer Concept?
A Designer Concept image combines beautiful child photography with advanced Design Planning & Graphic Design. The Result is a highly personalised image that has been created to tell a unique story, capture a moment in time or showcase interests and personality.
Our Studio: We have over 30 years photographic industry experience and we always stay ahead of the trend with unique innovation. Our ethos is one of “paying it forward” this means that what we do must also benefit the community around us. Since 2014 we have been donating our creation fees to children’s Charities. Our standard $150 sitting/creation fee is reduced to just $49 for you & this is donated to the beautiful childrens charity: Sunny Kids helping children & families here on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
Limited Positions:
Everynow and again we put a call out for Expressions of Interest for a Limited amount of children to be photographed & have special designs created. Typically we’ll call out for between 7 & 10 positions ( so only a maximum of about 70 child designs are created for the entire year! ) This is because of the tailor made bespoke nature of our Designs – each design is created from a blank canvas – therefore they take a long time to create & it is impossible to do more & maintain the incredibly high standards we set!
YOUR JOURNEY:
The first step to having a Designer Concept created for your child/children is to fill in your Expression of Interest Form (there’s one at the bottom of this page) telling us a little about your child or children. After you submit your interest you’ll receive a detailed email with all of the info about our latest call out & promotion (including promotion pricing & offers). The info you include on your form will be the basis of our first phone chat. If everything sounds great after our chat we’ll invite you to attend your personal Zoom Planning Session & that’s when the Fun & Creativity starts!
YOUR PLANNING SESSION:
When we start your One Hour Zoom Planning session with you we never know where the special concepts for your child will settle on. It’s best to start with an open mind, relax & enjoy the process! We’ll chat about a wide range of things including, interests, cultural background, personality, fun stories, family connections & so much more. Many of the Designs will have lots of almost “hidden” details that have special meaning to the family. We also often include family pets such as ( but not limited to) dogs, cats, lizards, horses etc… Favourite toys, keepsakes, jewellery, photos etc….. are often also included. We also chat about colour – sometimes the colours in our images match your home decore – whatever is important to you is important to us! There is literally a Universe of Possibilites available when we are Dreaming up your special Concept(s) with you!
Until you Experience your own Planning Session it’s challenging to comprehend just how personal and Tailor Made your Design will be. Here’s a couple of examples that may help!
Little Kobi’s image reflects his life near the sea. It’s filled with family & meaning. That’s his Grandfather’s boat you see in the background with their footy team emblem on it. The 2 family cats also make an appearance. Family “treasures” lay on the bottom of the ocean along with his favourite book & cuddle toy. On the lighthouse you’ll also see two flags that represent Kobi’s cultural heritage. Did you notice Kobi’s IVF photo bubble under the sea? This design has even more meaning & detail for Kobi & his family!
** The examples we explore during your Planning Session form a spring board into your possibilies, they are all an Inspiration ~ unique to each child. Yours will be Tailor Made to you. Sometimes we’ll go with a total Fantasy theme that celebrates being young: a time when Magic happens & anything is possible! Occassionaly we hear “I just want something totally Fantasy, while there’s still time – before my child grows up!” And we always listen carefully! Indy’s Design is all about Unicorns, Mermaids & Dolphins!
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION:
The sessions place at our Maroochydore Studio on our Green Screen. We photography the little ones in a fun playful style – that’s how we get our beautiful natural expressions! Parents/guardians are present thoughout the whole session to ensure that the kids feel totally comfortable. Older children & teenagers are involved in the technical aspects of the shoot especially if they are having sporting, motorbiking, dancing or any action related images made. The sessions typically run for an hour but may finish earlier – especially if we’ve captured everything we need. We all work together to create an awesome set of images that can be used in the Design(s)
